Edward is sitting in front of his closet door, making a structure out of his alchemy books. It was probably supposed to be a pyramid, once. His original intention was to clean up his closet a bit and maybe find some of the library books that were long overdue that Mustang kept bothering him about. Really, was it such a big deal that "Early Theorums on Morphology" was eighteen months overdue?

It was a testament to the amount of books he had crammed in his closet that the structure was now taller than he was. Not that it really took THAT many, anyway...

Bored? Edward? Never.

Edward looked around cautiously. He had been in hiding for most of the weekend...he was absolutely terrified that he was going to turn a corner and his commanding officer would be ready to spring at him. Not that Mustang was scary or anything, but he liked to keep his 'work' seperate from school and holy shit, Roy Mustang in Fandom? Edward shuddered at the thought.

Coast seemed clear, and he was hungry. Time to grab some grub.

Edward actually crawled out of bed for the first time in what seemed like a week and fiddled with a box of stuff that Winry had sent him. Assembled they turned out to be minature cars that, with some improvisation, looked like minature racecars. He then spent the next twenty minutes amusing himself by sending the car into the walls, bed-posts, and closet door.

Bored? Never.

Edward was having a heck of a time finding his gloves. He had pretty much stopped wearing them at school, given that no one seemed to care about his limbs being automail or how he'd gotten them, but they'd look nice with his suit. If only he could find his left glove. Of course he didn't have any material to transmute into another glove. Maybe Al would have a spare.

How did he lose his glove?!

Edward made like a lump under his blankets. Despite his best attempts at ignoring it, October had rolled around again. He contemplated just staying in bed all day and avoiding people especially Alphonse but knew that was futile. He lay in bed, stared at the ceiling, and sighed.

He still wasn't any closer than he was a year ago.

It was going to be a long day.

It was a Saturday. Edward loved Saturdays, it meant he could sleep past noon and well into the afternoon. Was he going to? Probably not. But he was making a valiant attempt at it, lying in bed and staring at the ceiling and willing that pesky sunlight to go away.

[Open to invasion. Really.]

Edward has propped the door open. He doesn't feel much like wandering around tonight, so he's reading through the syllabus for Intro to Magic and making notes in one of the small leather notebooks he keeps on his person at all times. Every now and then he thinks about getting up and getting some food, but then he remembers something else and is lost in his notes.

[Open to anyone who cares to bother him.]

Edward was making an attempt to unpack his suitcase. His massive store of books had been handwavily sent home over the summer, so he didn't have much yet. In fact, he didn't have much of anything. Maybe three sets of clothes to his name, all in the same state of battered disrepair, and the rest of his suitcase was made up of books.

Being Edward, he had removed three books from his suitcase before one fell open and he started reading it, completely oblivious to everything else.

[Door is propped open, feel free to bother him.]

Edward Elric unlocked the door to 229, threw his suitcase on the floor and immeaditely flopped on his bed, face-first in the pillow. His ass hurt from the long train ride, and that bothered him because by this point he thought he should be immune to that after untolerably long train rides. That, on top of the myriad of new faces he passed getting to his dorm had compounded in a throbbing headache of doom.

The best cure for that, of course, was attempted suicide by suffocation via pillow.

Conviently, he had completely forgotten to close the door behind him.

[OOC: Baaaaack from summer break and open to anyone who wants to pester the crap outta Ed.]

The rest of the cabin better hope that no one else is a pyromaniac, because Ed's little alcove has a few too many books shoved under the bed. There might even be a few still ON the bed. Good thing he's small.

Edward is currently sleeping the sleep of the dead. Which includes his head under this pillow. At least he got moved in all right. If he was concious, he'd probably be worried about whether or not he had any workshops today.

[And with that mun is off to work. Feel free to prod him, I just won't be back until 4pm EST to tag back.]

Edward has propped the door open to his room and has procured cinnamon rolls.

Where the cinnamon rolls have come from, well. It's better off that you don't ask.

Anyway, he's making a sticky mess on his alchemy books. Anyone who can save him from himself at this point would be appreciated. There are plenty of rolls.

Edward has no idea what's going on, but he's bored so he's outside idly kicking the soccer ball around.

[Throw something at the bean. Really. I'm bored, and I need back in the loop like whoa.]

Edward is ded like a ded thing.

He'd been absent largely since the end of the semester, mostly due to the fact that he couldn't make up his damn mind. Should he stay for the summer session, or should he return back to Central? He did have a duty to his Al and he seemed to be lollygagging about it while here, but Al seemed fine back home without him. Besides, there was so many books still to go through the in the library, it seemed a shame to give up such a fine oppurtunity.

So, that issue worked through, he is still ded like a ded thing. He groaned and buried his head under his pillow again, trying to avoid the dawn. Definitely didn't wanna be up now. Sleep. Sleeeeeeep.

Edward was sulking and taking it out on his wall by kicking his soccer ball into it repeatedly. "Stupid Al," he muttered. "Stupid!"

Edward stirred and yawned, rubbing one eye groggily. His bed felt really cold and empty - that was weird. Where was Alphonse? Maybe he went to the bathroom or something. Edward sat up and yawned again, looking around sleepily. It took him a moment - the room looked nothing like the one at home, but then he realized he was at school. Back at school meant ... Al slept in a different room now! Edward jumped out of bed, his sleepiness forgotten. He was REALLY REALLY HUNGRY now that he was awake and food trumped immediate concern over little brother, so he stuck a tousled head out the door to his room and looked around.

Edward trudged slowly into his room, tossed his suitcase on the bed and then promptly flopped on it. The air in the room smelled stale and it was stuffy. Edward grumbled to himself but didn't move to do anything about it, he was sore and tired from the train ride and then the long trudge back to the dorms. Ed hadn't expected to be gone as long as he had, and wondered briefly what had gone on in his absence.

He'd bug people about it tomorrow. Right now, he was just going to lay here and be happy not to be dead.

Wow, I'm, like, not dead and stuff. Well, for the time being. This little mini-update is to say that a) I got the job and b) I am moving as of tomorrow. What that means is no internet for at least the weekend through part of the week until I knock the carrier's heads together and they actually get in touch with me. The good news is, once I get my internet installed Ed will be back full-time and people can step on him poke him into doing things again.

Thanks for all of your well-wishes! *crosses fingers that moving day goes well*

To all those following my ongoing saga of "work sucks, get a new job", I've got a good interview tomorrow. *does a happy dance* Of course, if I get the job, that means I'm going to be moving as soon as I've got an apartment. Not that Ed's been around at all recently, but internet access will be spotty if that occurs. (Until I get it set up in my shiny new apartment.)

Wish me luck!

Okay. Man, this mun has had issues so far this year.

As we head into our eighth straight week of mandatory overtime at mun's bullshit workplace, mun has decided to take future into own hands and is running back and forth between Cincinnati and Lexington, (100+ miles), job-searching and apartment-searching in the latter.

Mun's little brother is still not in jail, which is good. His court date has now been moved to the 17th. As far as the mun knows, most of the major charges have been dropped, and he's only looking at misdemeanors. So, while it's still a source of stress it's not nearly what it was before.

Anyway.

Outside of occasional scenes and the play, Edward won't really be participating in any big plots until mun's life is slightly resolved. Which may not be until May. (Not that he usually does as mun arrives too late to be of any help, but them's the breaks.) Just a notice to all and sundry who might care.

Also? If someone could inform Edward of his involvement in the play IC at some point I'd appreciate it. He's never been by the principal's office and has no idea he's supposed to be involved in any way.

Sankyuu~!

OCC but IC: *starts paranoidly checking the island for homunculi and chimera, trusty spear and battering ram little brother in tow*

Don't mind me, I'm really vastly amused.
